| View in browser OCTOBER   Industry News FDA approves PCSK9 inhibitor evolocumab for the treatment of children with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH) to lower LDL-c levels.   Use of GLP-1 RAs, DPP-4 inhibitors, or pioglitazone may improve outcomes in COVID-19 patients with type 2 diabetes   Recently a real-world analysis of BNT162b2 and mRNA-1273 vaccines demonstrated that they were highly effective in preventing symptomatic Covid-19 in health care personnel including those at high risk.   Recently a study found that "standing" potentially improves "insulin sensitivity" in adults at high risk of type 2 diabetes.     NEW Digital Education Hub Iron deficiency (ID) is a very common comorbidity in patients with heart failure (HF). It can lead to worsening of heart failure symptoms and decreased quality of life regardless of the presence or absence of anemia. In an effort to increase awareness about the impacts of ID in HF, this new educational hub will aim to provide several resources to both clinicians and patients about risk factors, diagnosis, and treatment of ID.
